EvergreenHealth is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Kirkland/ Redmond Emergency Departments

Job Summary: Under general direction by the Nursing Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) utilizes the nursing process to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, and provide safe, therapeutic allocation of nursing resources to patients/families. Makes independent judgments, decisions, and take action regarding a wide range of routine and complex staffing and unit workflow issues. Collaborates with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the medical and nursing plans of care. Performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education, and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and the Clinical Director of the Emergency Department.

Primary Duties:

  1. Assists with unit organization and management within established policies, procedures, standards of care, budgetary parameters, and long-range objectives
  2. Coordinates and participates in patient care utilizing the nursing process; delegates and accepts responsibility for the level of care provided by those under his/her direction
  3. Participates in interviews, and oversees the training and development of staff and assures competency standards are met
  4. Demonstrates technical and clinical competence in area of specialty, through continuing educational activities
  5. Functions as a clinical resource person and role model for staff and students.
  6. Provides and supports educational opportunities and activities
  7. Collaborates with and supports established nursing organization structures
  8. Assures, promotes, and assesses compliance with regulatory agency standards
  9. Assures a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors; communicates and manages safety issues as soon as identified
  10. Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED for the position:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
  • 2 years of experience in an inpatient care setting
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Emergency Department RN
  • Experience in leadership role in an inpatient care setting such as Charge nurse. 
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
  • ACLS, PALS, or ENPC and TNCC provider within 6 months of hire date.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and JC regulations and requirements

DESIRED for the position:

  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
