Description
Wage Range: $87,755 - $140,442 per year
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job Summary
Responsible for managing the intake of new Diagnostic Imaging and other Imaging department’s modalities (Ortho, MFM, OBGYN, Ophthalmology etc.), that includes Security Review process, Network connectivity and Managing AE title assignments , while working with Imaging Systems, Epic Radiant, IT Security Operations, Biomed and Network teams to accomplish the intake process. As well as the monitoring the daily operation and troubleshooting of the Imaging modalities that connect to Diagnostic Imaging Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS). Collaborates with Imaging Systems on the integration, configuration and troubleshooting of Imaging modalities. Responsible for modality connectivity validation by testing DICOM archiving, Modality Worklist and maintaining Modalities by working with vendors to keep modalities at the latest revision level and coordinating with vendor to apply OS upgrades and security patches when available to client release. Acts as a liaison between Clinical Imaging users, Radia Clinical staff and other DI costumers.
Primary Duties
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of PACS system and equipment. Performs quality control and performance monitoring to ensure that system is fully functional.
- Conducts clinical imaging workflow analysis, defines and documents the workflows. Redesigns workflows based on need and system capability.
- Ensures that optimal integration between the EHR, RIS, PACS and Radia’s PACS are maintained for efficiency.
- Maintains functionality of ancillary DI systems such as Viewpoint, Cadstream, Onpoint, Callpoint, Magview, Dose Monitor and Instadose.
- Develops and maintains end-user policies and guidelines for the PACS.
- Responsible for system expansion and workflow integration for new customers and modalities.
- Oversees and coordinates strategic planning for PACS/image storage initiatives.
- Ensures that new equipment meets DICOM conformance.
- Assists with system upgrades, new system installation and implementation, and system connectivity and interface management.
- Oversees image and data sharing between Evergreen and non-Evergreen institutions and customers so that it is compliant with HIPAA standards.
- Acts as a liaison between radiology and other departments regarding medical imaging initiatives for both existing and new endeavors.
- Works closely with unit operations managers to ensures that all imaging throughout the EvergreenHealth system is completely captured in PACS in a timely manner.
- Creates and maintains documentation of technical, administrative and support procedures; create new documents as needed.
- Assists with capital and operational budget preparation and monthly monitoring of operational budget.
- Oversees user management, including viewing preferences for referring physicians.
- Provides end user training for physicians, radiologists and staff. Develops training procedures, materials and protocols for users of imaging systems as needed.
- Participates in on-call support of PACS and other imaging systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education/technical training and experience that demonstrates competency.
- Five years of clinical information systems experience.
- Experience in healthcare information analysis and computer system support.
- Experience in Windows operating systems and familiarity with SQL scripting.
- Experience in workflow support for Radiology, Mammography and Cardiology.
- Experience with Modality configuration and troubleshooting.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to conduct controlled testing of systems and applications.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with a focus on documentation of system support processes and workflows.
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must be able to effectively translate clinical requirements into the functions and capabilities of information systems.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Able to work independently while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to identify, propose and execute moderately complex projects.
DESIRED for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Informatics or clinical health care related field.
- Formal training in systems analysis, implementation and project management.
