Wage Range: $20.57 - $32.92 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 0730-1600/0800-1630 
Required: one day/week in the office, usually on Wednesdays.

Job Summary:
As an integral team member, the Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting and facilitating quality management and performance improvement programs and activities in alignment with contractual and organizational goals and requirements.

Primary Duties
  1. Performs medical record reviews for documentation related to HEDIS and STAR measures for submission to contracted payors.
  2. Reviews assigned medical records to verify clinical data elements for reporting, e.g., results of laboratory tests, verification of hypertension, and the most recent blood pressure reading.
  3. Collaborates with practices and providers for the collection of required documentation and supplemental information.
  4. Integrates data collected from a variety of electronic and paper sources.
  5. Manages various data organized within Excel spreadsheets.
  6. Identifies findings supported by documentation guidelines with high level of accuracy.
  7. Attends conference calls as necessary to provide information relating to clinical reviews and compliance.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED for the position:
  • Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare
  • LPN may be substituted for required education
  • Familiarity with operations of healthcare industry and healthcare delivery systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, and prioritize work to meet deadlines
DESIRED for the position:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare-related field
  • Experience working with population health management application (data entry, reporting)
  • Experience in medical record review
  • Experience working in EHR systems
