We are hiring a full-time permanent Analyst, IS Infrastructure PMO position working out of EPCOR Tower in Edmonton.

 

The IS Infrastructure PMO Analyst is accountable for supporting both the IS Infrastructure PMO and the IT Projects Admin areas by working with various internal business unit groups, infrastructure groups and external vendors. This includes delivery of appropriate project reporting, supporting project governance, staff augmentation, contingent worker resource management, and administration of project management applications and tools.

 

The role also provides project administration support, including being a central point of contact to all IS Infrastructure Project Managers, for tasks such as financial reconciliation questions, monthly and year-end Project accruals (operating and capital), coordinating financial tasks including journal vouchers and transfers, and project management application/tool assistance (for example: project setup, workflow activities). In addition, the position is responsible for contingent worker administration such as creating and maintaining contingent worker information. The Analyst also provides ongoing IT Capital and Operations support.

What you’d be responsible for

 

In the role of Analyst, IS Infrastructure PMO, you are accountable to IS Infrastructure Program Delivery Manager, operates within the context and prescribed limits established by the Associate Director, Infrastructure Program and will have the following key accountabilities (but are not limited to these):

 

  • Providing input into the IT Projects Admin and IS Infrastructure PMO plans and directions and ensuring on-going appropriate relationships with other positions.
  • Performing periodic audits of projects and working with the project teams to ensure compliance and adherence to EPCOR’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Maintaining a variety of project documentation related to governance, controls, and governance reporting. Such as:
    • Tools and processes
    • Project performance reporting
    • Resource utilization reporting
  • Administering various project management applications/tools including, but not limited to, Oracle Projects, Oracle Contingent worker records, SharePoint, OnePlan, Infrastructure PMO templates and spreadsheets, etc.
  • Investigating and resolving project management application related issues by working with various internal groups such as Project Managers, Operational Support, Application Services, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Delivery of appropriate project and financial reporting while assisting Project Managers, IT Contracts, IT Purchasing, Procurement and Finance by investigating and resolving discrepancies through detail analysis using tools such as Oracle Projects and Business Intelligence (BI) and coordinating with Corporate Finance and Supply Chain as needed.
  • Fulfilling various requests from IS Infrastructure Operational and Project teams and business unit groups (e.g., inquiries, reports, purchases, bookings etc.)
  • Maintaining and supporting the project tools, templates, documentation, and information.  This includes the ongoing permissions management.  Such as:
  • Oracle Projects, Oracle Contingent Worker record, SharePoint, and OnePlan
  • Project templates, process documentation and SDLC
  • Training new project resources to ensure alignment with IS Infrastructure PMO standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensuring new contractors receive the required system access and equipment within the required timelines while upholding information security standards.
  • Completing daily service request activities for all Business units such as:
  • New Hire, extensions and offboarding for all IT project contingent workers.
  • Completing all additional required tasks associated with IT Projects Admin and other duties as required by the Manager, Infrastructure Program Delivery such as:
  • Support regular project governance reviews.
  • Coordinate and support project financial information to meet all financial deadlines including accruals, transfers, and journal vouchers.
  • Provide financial reconciliation support to Project Managers
  • Run weekly contractor time summary report for approval by Infrastructure Managers accountable for the resources.
  • Run monthly contractor time summary report for approval by the all the IT Delivery Managers for all preferred vendors prior to sending out the Monthly Vendor Billing reports.
  • Adjust contingent worker timecards as required

 

What’s required to be successful

 

Qualifications, experience and behaviours you possess are:

 

  • A diploma in Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or equivalent from a recognized technical institute, or a University degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of directly related Project Management Office/Governance experience with at least 2 years professional experience in Information Technology Infrastructure projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of project management office activities, processes, procedures.
  • Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and experience with vendor management would be an asset.
  • Understanding of basic accounting practices or accounting background.
  • Experience as a SharePoint site owner (including permissions and workflows) is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle Applications including Oracle Projects, Oracle Purchase Orders/Receiving, Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) would be a strong asset.
  • Experience with OnePlan would be an asset
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel (including knowledge of macros, pivot tables, m query)
  • Experience and ability to work with various levels of management.
  • Strong time management, working with minimal supervision, and workload prioritization skills.

Effective time management, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and strong workloadprioritization skills are required. The successful candidate will be able to learn tasks and technology quickly, apply logical problemsolving and mathematical skills, and bring previous experience working in a highly motivated team environment.
