Senior Project Manager, IQ SST – Engineering & NPI

Program Management Austin, Texas

Description

Enphase Energy is a global energy technology company and a leading provider of solar, battery, and electric vehicle charging products. Founded in 2006, our innovative microinverter technology revolutionized solar power, making it a safer, more reliable, and scalable energy source. Today, the Enphase Energy System enables users to make, use, save, and sell their own power. Enphase is also one of the most successful and innovative clean energy companies in the world, with more than 80 million products shipped across 160 countries.

Enphase is now extending its proven distributed power architecture beyond residential and commercial solar into large-scale infrastructure with the IQ Solid-State Transformer (IQ SST) — a GaN-based, semiconductor- and software-defined power platform purpose-built for AI and hyperscale data centers. Each IQ SST rack combines intelligent power modules operating in a coordinated series/parallel configuration to convert medium-voltage grid power directly to usable AC and DC voltages for data centers including AI and machine learning applications, and the platform is designed to scale to gigawatt-level deployments. Join us in bringing this next-generation product from advanced development through engineering validation and into production.

The Role

The Senior Project Manager, IQ SST is responsible for planning and driving the internal engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects that make up the IQ SST development program. Working out of our Austin, Texas facility, you will guide projects through Enphase's product realization process in a highly cross-functional environment — developing and maintaining project schedules, partnering with procurement, tracking vendor deliveries, and keeping engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams aligned and informed. You will own the operating rhythm of the projects you manage: running team meetings, tracking actions and risks, and communicating progress clearly so each project moves through its development and validation gates on time, at quality, and at cost.

What You Will Do

  • Plan and drive internal engineering and NPI projects across the IQ SST platform, guiding them through each phase of Enphase's product realization process from concept through validation and production readiness.
  • Develop, baseline, and maintain detailed, integrated project schedules covering design milestones, prototype builds, component qualification, test and validation phases, and phase-gate reviews.
  • Partner closely with Procurement on sourcing plans and purchase order execution; track vendor and supplier deliveries against the schedule and drive resolution when materials or components are at risk.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality, and Compliance, ensuring dependencies are visible and owned.
  • Support engineering build planning and execution, including material readiness, build coordination, and post-build issue tracking and disposition.
  • Identify, track, and drive resolution of project risks and blockers — design changes, part shortages, test failures, tooling delays, and compliance holds — before they impact schedule.
  • Run core team meetings, design reviews, and phase-gate reviews; capture decisions and action items and drive follow-through.
  • Provide crisp project status, dashboards, and executive-level updates, clearly communicating progress, trade-offs, risks, and recovery plans to teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Partner with the IQ SST program management team to roll project-level plans into the overall program schedule, and help develop and improve project management processes as the team scales.
  • Champion project management process improvements and tooling, including productive uses of AI and automation to reduce overhead on the team.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience as a Senior Project Manager driving complex, high-value projects in renewable energy, energy storage, power electronics, or related technology and infrastructure sectors.
  • Expertise in project planning, baseline schedule development and management, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Experience working with procurement and managing suppliers and vendors through execution — tracking commitments and deliveries, holding partners accountable to schedule and quality, and reporting performance.
  • Demonstrated success operating in highly cross-functional environments, coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams toward common milestones.
  • Proven track record delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, with disciplined performance reporting and variance management.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard project management tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, and strong command of dashboards and status reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and via dashboards/status reporting — with the ability to drive clarity and alignment across technical and business stakeholders, up to and including executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-velocity projects with significant internal and external dependencies and to drive decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field; MBA or advanced degree a plus. PMP certification or equivalent a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structured product development or product realization processes, including phase-gate reviews and NPI, or a strong desire to apply large-project delivery discipline to new product development.
  • Background in utility-scale solar, BESS, or data center electrical equipment — helpful context for the markets IQ SST serves.
  • Experience launching a new product or technology platform into a new market segment.
  • Experience with domestic/US manufacturing scale-up and related sourcing considerations.
  • Experience using automation, scripting, or dashboards to manage project data at scale.
