ABOUT THE ROLE
The Salesforce Administration team enables Egnyte by automating business processes, integrating sales and marketing tools, and maintaining Salesforce data integrity. We partner with Sales Operations to equip sales teams for effective prospecting and quoting, and with Finance to ensure accurate billing for customers and partners.
This role sits at the Finance end of that partnership. We run a ~900-user Salesforce org with Salesforce CPQ and Salesforce Billing at the center of quote-to-cash, integrated with NetSuite and a broader GTM stack. We are hiring someone who owns the Billing side of that stack end to end.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Own Salesforce Billing (primary focus, ~60% of the role)
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Salesforce Billing (blng) — invoice generation and scheduling, invoice runs, credit and debit notes, payments and payment allocation, refunds, and revenue schedules.
- Configure and maintain billing rules, tax rules, revenue recognition rules, finance books, finance periods, and legal entities; diagnose why an invoice line posted the way it did and correct it at the source.
- Run and troubleshoot scheduled billing and payment jobs; investigate failed or stuck invoice runs, unbilled order products, and proration or co-term discrepancies.
- Own billing reconciliation between Salesforce and NetSuite — investigate sync failures, mismatched amounts, and duplicate or orphaned records, and drive them to resolution with Finance.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close: period locks, cutoff issues, aging and deferred revenue reporting, and the ad hoc "why doesn't this tie out" questions that arrive at 6pm on the last day of the quarter.
- Partner with Finance and Revenue Accounting on audit requests, controls, and evidence for SOX-style reviews.
Support CPQ and the upstream quote lifecycle (~25%)
- Administer Salesforce CPQ (SBQQ): product and price book setup, price rules, product rules, discount schedules, quote templates, and Advanced Approvals (SBAA).
- Support amendments, renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations — and understand how each one lands downstream in orders, contracts, subscriptions, and invoices.
- Trace defects across the full quote → order → contract → subscription → invoice → payment chain, and identify where in that chain the problem actually originated rather than where it surfaced.
General senior administration (~15%)
- Handle core admin work across Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud, and managed packages: user and license management, profiles and permission sets, validation rules, Flows, reports and dashboards.
- Complete regular internal system audits and prepare the org for Salesforce seasonal releases and managed package upgrades; maintain SME-level knowledge of what each release changes for CPQ and Billing.
- Coordinate the evaluation, scoping, and delivery of new development requests, including effort estimates and impact analysis.
- Perform thorough system testing in sandboxes before promotion, following the team's change management and deployment process.
- Work with the rest of the admin team to strengthen the processes that govern administrative, development, and change management activity.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 4 years as a Salesforce administrator, including at least 2 years of hands-on Salesforce Billing configuration and support — not just exposure through a CPQ role.
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end quote-to-cash: order management, invoicing, amendments, renewals, credits, payments, and billing reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of the Billing and CPQ data model (blng and SBQQ objects) and how records relate across the lifecycle.
- Familiarity with an integrated ERP, ideally NetSuite, and with the failure modes of ERP–Salesforce integrations.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex CPQ and Billing issues while protecting data integrity, and to work effectively with Finance, Sales Operations, and other cross-functional partners.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize competing requests, and manage laterally and upward.
- Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization, to reconcile conflicting information from multiple sources, and to distinguish what a user asked for from what they actually need.
- Creative and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Salesforce Certified Administrator and Salesforce CPQ Specialist; Revenue Cloud Consultant or Billing-specific credentials are a strong plus.
- Experience with subscription and usage-based billing models in a SaaS business.
- Exposure to tax engines (e.g., Avalara), payment gateways, and dunning or collections processes.
- Experience with middleware such as Boomi or Celigo.
- Experience supporting partner, reseller, or multi-entity billing.
- Familiarity with Salesforce's Revenue Cloud roadmap and what a move off legacy CPQ would involve.
BENEFITS
- Competitive salaries
- Medical insurance and healthcare benefits for you and your family
- Fully paid premiums for life insurance
- Flexible hours and PTO
- Gym reimbursement
- Childcare reimbursement
- Group term life insurance
