The Engineering Infrastructure team takes care of one of the most crucial parts of Egnyte’s software stack – the core components that power our solutions, including storage, data organization, search, connectivity to client-side components, permission system and many others.

We are operating at the scale of tens of Petabytes and billions of files and daily requests. Our team combines the growth and excitement of a rapidly growing company with the responsibility and challenges of operating an existing massive customer base. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Lead the Infrastructure engineering group, reporting to the Engineering Platform VP.
• Be hands-on and lead from the front; provide technical inputs and direction to the group as necessary. Be a primary stakeholder in generating roadmap to support Egnyte’s current and future scale.
• Ensure high quality operation of Egnyte’s infrastructure. Drive a strong culture of continuous learning.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as application teams, DevOps and SRE to ensure infrastructure supports roadmap and operational needs as necessary.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to inject innovation into Egnyte’s architecture.
• The team is distributed between our HQ in Mountain View, CA, East Europe and India. Physical presence of 3 days a week in our HQ is expected.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in building and operating large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure for SaaS products.
• Hands-on: understand and be able to contribute to system designs.
• Past background in Java (mandatory) and Python / Go (desirable).
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure or AWS) and infrastructure as code concepts.
• Experience in leading distributed teams.

COMPENSATION:

• Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $180k - $240k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
