It’s time to Egnyte your career! We’re currently on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join Egnyte’s Cloud Platform and Infrastructure team. Our code serves billions of requests per day with sub-second latency in a fault-tolerant environment. Some of the responsibilities for this team include - Egnyte’s Cloud File System, Object Store, Metadata Stores, Search Systems, Recommendations Systems, Synchronization, and intelligent caching of multi-petabyte datasets. As part of this team, you’ll work on a global product used by thousands of companies on a daily basis in their workflows. 

As one of the Engineers working on this team, you’ll act as guardian of platform quality by collaborating with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and 3rd party Vendors/Partners on every level of Product design & development lifecycle. What You’ll Do (but is not limited to)

  • Designing, maintaining, and executing test frameworks and tests for Egnyte platform
  • Identifying, analyzing, and reporting issues in functional, performance, and scale areas; We prioritize thorough documentation of each ticket, as it improves collaboration between QA engineers and software developers
  • Collaborate with a Product Manager to discuss planned features and provide feedback regarding potential risks or dependencies and come up with alternative solutions
  • Collaborating with other engineers and the rest of your team in monitoring, detecting, and handling production issues

Your Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in testing, best if you have experience in creating and maintaining automated tests
  • Hands on technical person with knowledge of HTTP
  • Experience with REST API testing
  • Basic/advanced knowledge of databases (SQL), caches is a bonus
  • Experience with Java or Python
  • Being an effective and articulate communicator and able to get your point across
  • Ability to create effective test cases, build test plans and execute them
  • Knowledge about testing methodologies (functional and non-functional)
  • Passion for solving problems, improving things, and advocating for quality
  • Ability to work comfortably in Linux/UNIX systems
  • Interest in scale, performance, or security testing as well as testing distributed systems
