As a Director of Estate Planning on the Advanced Planning Strategies Team, you’ll play a pivotal role by driving estate planning education and guidance for EFE’s planners and clients.   
  
In addition to an earnest desire to help people, we are looking for the ideal candidate to complement the team’s existing talents. For this Director of Estate Planning role, we are seeking a candidate with a proven track record identifying and implementing comprehensive strategies to expand EFE’s estate planning offering for our clientsIf you are a strong communicator who is passionate about helping people meet their asset transfer goals this may be an opportunity for you! 
  
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary client-facing resource, in partnership with the financial planner, to provide clients and prospects with estate planning education and estate planning strategies to consider 
  • Identify and explain to financial planners and clients comprehensive and holistic estate, wealth transfer, trust administration, tax, retirement, succession and philanthropic planning strategies and solutions 
  • Provide education and guidance on estate planning techniques and strategies to EFE financial planners and their clients; review and interpret estate planning documents 
  • Consult with expert insurance, tax and other colleagues to support complex financial planning cases 
  • Collaborate with corporate partners as an estate planning subject matter expert to build and deliver impactful content for clients, prospects and the public 
  • Stay current on estate, trust and tax legislation (federal and state) 
  
Requirements
  • JD required advanced degree (LLM; CPA; CFP) preferred 
  • 15+ years of experience in estate planning and trust administration required, including experience with a broker-dealer, registered investment advisor or wealth management firm. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills, and a proven track record working effectively with teammates at all levels in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of all other areas of personal financial planning preferred (e.g., investments; insurance; retirement planning; taxation; etc.) 
  • Series 65 securities license required, or must be acquired within 3 months of starting the position 
  • This position will be required to support planners in the Mountain and Pacific time zones; Pacific time zone work hours required  
  • Some travel (5-10%) may be required 
  
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $140,600-187,400. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
