Reporting to the Senior Director of Learning & Development, this position will work very closely with Sales Leadership and Client Strategy & Execution team, as well as cross-functionally with our Client Services team to develop and deliver high-quality and relevant learning experiences that directly support the business objectives.

As a Planner Development Coach on the Learning & Development team, you will identify, design, develop and deliver innovative, scalable, sustainable learning experiences that support the performance improvement of our national financial advisor team.

For this Planner Development Coach role, we are seeking a candidate with proven informal leadership and relationship management skills to help advance our financial advisors to better serve clients. Responsibilities:
  • Engage as an internal consultant with leadership to identify business initiatives and training needs to continuously improve financial advisor performance.
  • Sustain and improve performance by proactively identifying emerging trends and creating action plans to improve performance.
  • Facilitate workshops, training programs, and leadership coaching to improve financial advisor results.
  • Design, develop, and deploy learning programs utilizing adult learning theory and cutting-edge technology.
  • Identify and consult with subject matter experts to develop accurate learning materials.
  • Lead and contribute to initiatives that advance how we support, develop and retain talent.
  • Collaborate with external partners to develop training content and quality delivery.
  • Measure program effectiveness and recommend activities and program strategies.
Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years’ experience in sales training, developing learning solutions for retail, contact center and remote/distance learning.
  • Previous experience as a sales trainer in financial services preferred.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and establish influential relationships at all levels of the enterprise.
  • Strong learning and organizational development consultation skills with the ability to identify performance gaps, evaluate knowledge gaps and design solutions to develop skills or transfer critical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate a positive, proactive, and self-directed approach.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines; plan, organize and carry out multiple, detailed tasks.
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $97,400-$129,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
