Edelman Financial Engines is seeking a strategic and collaborative Vice President, Total Rewards to lead the design and execution of our compensation, benefits, equity, and recognition programs. This leader will play a critical role in enabling our mission to Amplify Our People and Culture by ensuring our Total Rewards programs attract, motivate, and retain exceptional talent.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Vice President will shape a forward-looking Total Rewards strategy aligned with our business goals, culture, and growth. The role leads a team of Total Rewards professionals and partners closely with Finance, Legal, HR Business Partners, and senior business leaders across the organization.
This is a highly visible role that advises executive leadership on reward strategies that drive performance, engagement, and organizational success. Success in this role requires a data-driven mindset, strong business acumen, and exceptional communication skills, along with the ability to navigate ambiguity and influence across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Total Rewards Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of a competitive Total Rewards strategy encompassing compensation, benefits, equity, and recognition programs
- Ensure programs align with business priorities, talent strategy, and market competitiveness
- Oversee market analysis, benchmarking, and emerging compensation and benefits trends
Compensation & Benefits Leadership
- Lead the annual compensation planning cycle and ongoing compensation strategy
- Design and administer competitive variable compensation programs, including sales incentive plans
- Oversee employee recognition programs and evaluate program effectiveness
- Develop clear and transparent employee communications related to Total Rewards
Leadership & Partnership
- Lead and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team
- Partner with Finance, Legal, HR Business Partners, and senior leaders to guide compensation and benefits decisions
- Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership and contribute to reporting for the Board Compensation Committee
Program & Vendor Management
- Oversee relationships with benefits and compensation vendors and ensure high-quality service delivery
- Drive operational excellence across Total Rewards systems, programs, and processes
Requirements:
- 10+ years of Human Resources experience with 5+ years in Total Rewards leadership
- Deep expertise in a global compensation strategy, benefits programs, and market benchmarking
- Experience with the following HR Suite: UKG HRIS, Shareworks, Paycycle, Hub, Alight, Qualtrics, Lattice, Greenhouse
- Experience in a global financial services or investment advisory environments
- Experience designing variable compensation programs, including sales incentives
- Strong ability to translate complex compensation concepts for leaders and employees
- Strong vendor/partner relationship management, particularly with benefits related providers
- Broad understanding of HR functions, ability and motivation to contribute to efforts outside of direct scope
- Experience administering pre-IPO equity programs, preferably of private equity owned companies
- Experience supporting executive leadership and Board-level compensation discussions
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, influence senior leaders, and lead high-performing teams
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $197,500 - $250,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
