Overview
We are seeking an experienced Integration Architect to design, engineer, and optimize integration solutions across enterprise applications, platforms, and data systems. This role is critical for ensuring seamless data flow, interoperability, and system reliability within a complex technology ecosystem. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to Earthjustice's departmental operations, enterprise systems, and data teams to establish integration standards and deployments that support scalable growth and operational efficiency.
The Manager, Integration Architect is expected to work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule, and may work hybrid or remote from the following locations: San Francisco, New York City, Washington D.C.
Responsibilities
Design & Engineering [40%]
- Develop, deploy, and operate end‑to‑end integrations across enterprise systems and data platforms; ensure integrations are designed for scalability, reliability, and maintainability while evaluating new technologies to meet evolving enterprise needs; and build and maintain the enterprise-wide integration roadmap, architectural diagrams, data flows, and models.
- Establish and document standards for system interoperability across workflows, data, and security. This includes defining field mappings, maintaining a comprehensive data dictionary, implementing ESB guidelines, and setting robust error-handling protocols.
- Ensure all integrations adhere to security, compliance, data governance, and performance standards and apply appropriate design patterns. This includes supporting continuous data integrity across systems, enabling secure data flows, enforcing API standards, managing version control, and overseeing the full integration lifecycle.
Technical Leadership [30%]
- Provide guidance, and hands-on engineering support throughout design, development, deployment and support to development teams including vendor contractors.
- Conduct system design, code and integration plan reviews to ensure sound design and best practices are followed.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving system interoperability issues, integration error handling, and preventing integration-related bottlenecks while clearly communicating architectural vision, the integration roadmap, solution trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaboration & Communication [30%]
- Participate in project activities including sprint planning, technical grooming, and planned system releases and support troubleshooting, performance tuning, error-handling, and post-incident analysis of all existing and future integrations.
- Partner with the IT Operations, Cybersecurity, Service Desk and Change Management teams to ensure successful integration deployments, assess business impact and gather feedback.
- Partner closely with operational functions within the various departments at Earthjustice i.e. the business stakeholders to translate their need into technical solutions for integrations and automations affecting their systems.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Certification is required in at least one of the integration platforms like MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica or similar
- 5+ years of experience in integration architecture, software engineering, or technical leadership roles
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with at least one integration-as-a-service platform like Boomi, Workato, Mulesoft, Informatica or similar
- Hands-on experience with data mapping, transformation, schema design (JSON, XML, XSD), and canonical data models
- Deep understanding of REST APIs, SOAP, messaging (MQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ), event-driven architectures, and microservices
- Strong grasp of security technologies e.g. OAuth, JWT, SSO, encryption, zero-trust integration patterns and API governance
- Strong expertise in modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a law firm or nonprofit organizations
- Experience with Legal Technology applications like Intapp, Clio, Filevine
- Experience working in large-scale, enterprise environments with SaaS ERP, CRM systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, ADP, Workday
- Knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD), design thinking, and architectural frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman)
- Familiarity with AI/ML workloads, data engineering, or high-volume transactional systems

Salaries at Earthjustice are determined by working location and are commensurate with the experience required.
The annual salary range for this role in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY is $177,800 - $197,500
The annual salary range for this role in Washington, DC is: $168,900 - $187,700
