As a contract developmental editor for Food & Wine you will work with freelance editors on updating and improving our existing library of content. You will primarily review the work of freelance editors, ensuring all articles meet quality standards, and follow project instructions and brand guidelines. You will also offer new and veteran editors feedback and revisions to improve the overall editing process. Candidates must provide clips that demonstrate their expertise in the spheres of food and cooking. Though a professional culinary background is not required, candidates must have sufficient knowledge to identify and, at times, rectify problems in recipe- or technique-based writing. Ideally, they’d be acquainted with Food & Wine’s body of work, including a familiarity with (and enjoyment of) its content.
As a digital publisher that reaches millions per month, Dotdash Meredith has the power and responsibility to create positive change. We are focusing our hiring efforts on diversity, equity, and inclusion to build a team that reflects our mission for racial equity in everything we do.
