Investopedia is seeking an experienced editor to help ensure our readers understand what the latest business news means for their finances. We are seeking a copy editor with a passion for educating and empowering others about complex topics. Must have a solid background in business news and digital publishing.  

About the Role:  

Thousands of readers look to Investopedia daily for guidance in learning how to manage their finances. As a contract business and finance news copy editor at Investopedia, you will help ensure our business news content online is well-researched and trustworthy.  

This role is 30 hours per week, 11- 5 PM EST  

About Your Contributions: 

  • Edit and publish business news content to help readers understand how recent events could affect their finances
  • Follow Investopedia and Dotdash Meredith's best practices and styles
  • Work with the Investopedia staff, as well as freelance writers and editors 

About You:  

The ideal candidate is an experienced editor with a history of working with well-recognized business and financial news organizations.  

  • Experience publishing business news content with well-respected outlets
  • Strong editorial skills, including demonstrated experience line editing for content improvements, grammar, and AP style
  • Knowledge of financial markets and economics
  • Experience with fact-checking best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with SEO best practices
  • Comfortable using technology and willing to learn new program

Pay Range: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
