Health, Family, and Fitness Methodology Writer (Verywell + Health + Parents)
Dotdash Meredith is looking for a contract methodology writer for the Health verticals. As the Methodology Writer, you will support Dotdash Meredith’s product testing initiative to create meaningful product insights for our users (and for Google) in the form of original content. You will do product category research, including interviewing experts, to come up with rigorous ways that we can test and rate products. You will help support the mission of our team by standardizing our tests so that they are repeatable and very understandable to testers.
The Methodology Writer’s main goal will be to get ahead of our planned lab and real-world tests by writing testing methodologies that can work for multiple sites at once.You should have strong expertise in the specific vertical area, and your tests will support Dotdash Meredith’s sites:
- Health (Verywell Health, Verywell Family, and Verywell Fitness)
This is a contract role at 40 hours per week and would be hybrid.
About the Role:
- Do category research for upcoming tests that can inform content and methodologies
- Interview category experts to define procurement lists and testing methodologies
- Create rubrics and methodologies that standardize product testing for lab, real world, and long-term testing
- Develop ways to rate products based on specific attributes for that category
- Collaborate with commerce editors and brand editors to get input for testing procedures
About You:
- 2+ years writing experience at an online publisher, specifically in the vertical (health or beauty) space
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A product enthusiast who spends time researching and obsessing over purchases
- Proficiency in project management tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or Airtable
- Comfortable working independently and prioritizing across multiple projects
- Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively copy, all the while keeping the reader in mind
- A self-starter who is comfortable working in a quickly changing environment
- Experience interviewing experts a plus
- CMS experience
- Bachelor's degree required
