Domtar is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join the Final Products Manufacturing Department (FPMD) at the Domtar Marlboro Mill in Bennettsville, SC where approximately 1000 tons of pulp and paper products are produced daily. 

Job Summary 

The Maintenance Specialist position is in the Final Products Manufacturing Department which includes both the Paper and Pulp Machine areas. This position reports to the FPMD Reliability Lead and will be the Mechanical / Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) resource for the area. 

 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support maintenance activities of the Final Products area.  This would include Domtar activities as well as contracted activities.
  • Assist in planning of outages in Final Products (i.e. timelines and schedules, selection of contractors and materials, establishing and monitoring of budgets, etc.). 
  • Oversee activities of the FPMD Maintenance Team Leaders (both Mechanical and Electrical & Instrumentation) and Maintenance Planners.
  • Help to establish maintenance budgets and monitor maintenance spending against budgets.
  • Directly supervise selected contracted maintenance jobs both during normal operations and during outages.
  • Initiate and oversee trouble shooting efforts such as Root Cause Failure Analysis.
  • Helps to administer the preventative/predictive maintenance programs for Final Products. 
  • Oversight of work orders systems and planning processes (currently using SAP) to see that work is entered, prioritized, planned, scheduled, completed, closed, and documented.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of industrial maintenance background. Will consider three (3) years of experience in maintenance with a technical degree
  • Safety and team oriented with a good work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work independently and to lead entire group of maintenance professionals in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SAP and DMSI (MAINtelligence) preferred.
