EAM Corporation, a subsidiary of Domtar, in Jesup, Georgia is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. This position will report directly to the Manager, Manufacturing, and will provide process engineering support for quality and productivity improvement initiatives, cost reduction activities and EH&S improvement efforts.

ey Responsibilities:  

  • Continuous Improvement Projects: 
    Complete projects focused on continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data; designing and executing trials; and using statistical tools to evaluate results and determine next steps. Continuous improvement projects will be focused on improving quality, improving uptime of all production lines, and reducing overall costs.
  • Capital Projects:
    Analyze data to provide ROI for capital projects. Manage specific assigned capital projects from concept, through design, install, and startup maintaining project timelines and budgeted costs. Manage contractors as required for capital projects.
  • Provide technical assistance to the production areas:
    Troubleshoot and resolve operating problems with existing processes.
    Collect and analyze data to support maintenance and operations in eliminating repeat issues.
  • Safety Support:
    Be an active participant in safety team activities, adhere to all safety policies, and advocate for all-employee participation in safety programs. Ensure Continuous Improvement Projects lead with safety.
  • Miscellaneous:
    Stay up to date on new processes and products in Nonwovens by reading relevant trade magazines/websites and participating in Nonwovens classes and workshops.


Required Qualifications/Professional Experiences
Years of Experience/Education/Certifications:  

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment
  • A safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow plant safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications/Professional Experiences/Years of Experience:   

  • Prefer Mechanical Engineering
  • Prefer 3+ years process familiarity and experience demonstrating process troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Specific knowledge of non-wovens/ air laid manufacturing machinery/equipment
  • Green belt or Black Belt certified
  • Knowledge in Siemens and Allen Bradley control systems

Critical Competencies for Success (Leadership, Technical, Innovation and Work Complexity):  

  • Ability to monitor and track trends (downtime, process and quality outages)
