Reliability Engineer
Domtar is looking for a Reliability Engineer to support needs of the business in the maintenance and/or reliability function. This support includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Identify & implement improvements in process & equipment reliability
across the Mill by working closely with operations & maintenance
personnel.
• Provide maintenance engineering, technical assistance, reliability
leadership/support & mill-wide change support.
• Coordinate & supervise both Mill & contract personnel during normal &
outage conditions.
• Serve as the main interface for Reliability improvement by reviewing
equipment history & performing failure cause analysis.
• Review existing preventive maintenance processes for value to the
maintenance effort & propose changes as necessary to improve the
reliability of the assets.
Position Requirements:
• Personal dedication to working safely
• BS in Engineering/ Engineering Technology
• Strong knowledge of equipment/process systems & equipment selection
• Strong equipment & system troubleshooting aptitude
• Good written & oral communication skills needed to effectively communicate technical activities across all levels of the organization
• Role requires frequent walking, climbing ladders & stairs, crawling into confined spaces, measure/lift/carry objects of varying weights, exposure to dust, heat, dirt, grease, chemicals, noise as well as various weather conditions & industrial environments. Use of PPE & respiratory protection is required.
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, specifically in
reliability
• Experience in leading & promoting a safe work environment
• Experienced with Plant Maintenance management processes
• Understanding of reliability methods & practices to improve asset
reliability
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people to resolve issues
• Microsoft Office products experience.
