To learn more, visit www.domtar.com.  Domtar’s Packaging mill in Kingsport, TN is searching for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Team Leader.
This position is part of the Kingsport Packaging Mill Maintenance Team and plays a critical role in the overall reliability and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment. The Electrical Maintenance Team Leader’s primary purpose is to lead the team of hourly E&I maintenance employees to safely maintain plant equipment at optimum efficiency and to facilitate the team’s growth and use of their troubleshooting skills and experiences to resolve electrical and instrumentation problems that may occur. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees day-to-day operations of hourly electrical maintenance team, including but not limited to safety, scheduling, timekeeping, training / development, performance, appropriate behavior, coaching / counseling etc.
  • Coordinates equipment and facility maintenance / repairs with Operations and other key personnel to:
    • minimize downtime;
    • ensure work is properly and safely completed and in a timely manner;
    • ensure preventive maintenance is performed
  • Collaborates with Maintenance Planner and other key personnel to plan work assignments, schedule projects, and determine cost estimates / budget.
  • Identifies and implements improvements in process and equipment reliability across the Mill by working closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering personnel.
  • Supports maintenance team by assisting with resolving technical issues and repair procedures / troubleshooting.
  • Assists with overseeing mechanical/multi-craft teams as needed for vacancy coverage.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years E&I maintenance journey-person experience; B.S. in Engineering; or Associate degree in a maintenance-related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated strong leadership skills and experience leading a manufacturing electrical maintenance team to achieve excellent results .
  • Ability to lead safety improvements through personal commitment and procedures; knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and listening communication skills.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of building a successful team.
  • Proficient planning, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Results focused and detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of experience as an E&I or multi-craft supervisor / team leader.  Multi-craft leadership experience preferred.
  • Leadership in a union environment preferred.
  • Three (3) years experience in the pulp and paper industry, preferably in packaging grades.
  • Working experience with instrumentation, AC variable speed drives, power distribution, motor maintenance / repair and PLC’s, preferably in a packaging/pulp/paper environment.
  • Working degree of computer literacy, including computer-based maintenance software (SAP) and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledgeable in areas of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and reliability
