PHP Developer – Travel Media Group (Orlando, FL)

 

About the Role

Travel Media Group is seeking a talented PHP Developer to join our growing technology team in Orlando, FL. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining both client-facing and internal web applications that power our reputation, social media, and AI-driven hospitality platforms. This position will be required to work in the TMG office. 

The ideal candidate is a motivated developer who thrives in an agile, collaborative environment, has a strong grasp of PHP frameworks, modern front-end technologies, and experience working with APIs and data scraping. You’ll work on projects that directly impact thousands of hotels and management companies.


Responsibilities

       Develop, enhance, and maintain internal and external web applications built on PHP and Symfony.

       Implement, integrate, and maintain third-party APIs and data ingestion/scraping pipelines.

       Collaborate with team members in an agile environment using Git-based version control.

       Contribute to feature planning, architecture discussions, and code reviews.

       Build responsive, accessible, and performant front-end interfaces using frontend frameworks.

       Diagnose, debug, and resolve application bugs and performance issues.

       Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.

       Conduct unit testing and assist with deployment processes.

       Manage time effectively, communicate progress, and meet task deadlines.


Qualifications

       2+ years of professional PHP and MySQL development experience.

       Proficiency in Symfony or similar MVC frameworks (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter).

       Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

       Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs.

       Knowledge of web scraping tools and techniques (e.g., cURL, Guzzle, Puppeteer, BeautifulSoup, or similar).

       Familiarity with Doctrine ORM or equivalent database abstraction layers.

       Understanding of responsive design principles and browser compatibility.

       Experience with Git for version control.

       Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.


Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

       Knowledge of WordPress theme/plugin development.

       Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.

       Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, EC2, S3) and CI/CD pipelines.

       Experience with data visualization, dashboards, or analytics tools.

       Interest in AI, NLP, or vector search technologies (bonus).
