POSITION
SUMMARY

The Digital Campaigns Producer plays the lead role in producing Defenders’ email campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Digital Retention, the Digital Campaigns Producer will work with members of the Integrated Marketing team to draw from campaign strategy, copy, creative, audience and user experience requirements and produce daily email campaigns, including advocacy, fundraising, ecommerce, cultivation, event and enewsletter. This hands-on position requires a working knowledge of HTML as well as the technical aptitude to produce email campaigns, donation forms, action alerts and surveys. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use Defenders’ eCRM platform (Engaging Networks) to produce all technical elements of email campaigns from start to finish, including but not limited to:
    • National and targeted fundraising, advocacy, event and cultivation emails
    • Donation campaigns and pages
    • Action alerts
    • Thank you pages
    • Autoresponders
    • Social media share links
    • Survey pages
    • Monthly enewsletter
    • Campaign specific welcome series
    • Any other emails assigned
  • Deep understanding of marketing best practices with a desire to collaborate and influence campaigns to maximize results.
  • Consult with internal and external resources, when necessary, to help with email production, implementation and delivery. This may include new and evolving functionality within the eCRM platform.
  • Work closely with members of the team to understand Defenders’ email and web form needs to collaboratively create solutions to meet program objectives including building new groups, A/B and multivariate testing, creating donor journeys and identifying and setting up the appropriate target for each campaign.
  • Maintain a standardized method of production by following appropriate naming conventions and documentation to ensure all backend reporting is accurate.
  • Implement new page templates for emails and donation/advocacy forms.
  • Produce any graphics needed for email campaigns, or partner with internal and external resources for advanced creative.
  • Collaborate internally to understand and implement audience segmentation and identify new targeted audiences to support fundraising and advocacy goals.
  • Create all source codes for email and mobile campaigns. Partner with other Integrated Marketing team members to get source codes populated in the backend.
  • Create and manage email suppression lists within the eCRM and in collaboration with other sources to ensure appropriate audiences. 
  • Monitor email deliverability and file counts to ensure any irregularities are caught and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular reporting that demonstrates the impact of the emails sent in accordance with the goals established for each campaign. This could include open rates, click through rates, actions and donation.
  • Attend email marketing related webinars and report back on evolving best practices.
  • Identify system deficiencies – research, review and recommend solutions to appropriate staff member’s solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Bachelor’s (B.A./B.S.) degree or equivalent

Experience: 4 years of relevant experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

  1. Proficient in HTML.
  2. A working knowledge of CSS and email marketing fundamentals.
  3. Knowledge of Photoshop.
  4. Experience with e-CRM (e-Constituent Relationship Management) software platforms and CMS (Content Management System) software platforms (Engaging Networks strongly preferred).
  5. Experience working with fundraising and marketing e-campaigns.
  6. Political savvy for how to effectively conduct e-campaigns.
  7. Ability to build, test and deploy email fundraising messages.
  8. Knowledge of segmented marketing and A/B testing.
