Work Environment: In Field, with constant or frequent exposure to temperature extremes.

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager T&D Construction & Maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Participation in the maintenance and construction of the transmission and distribution lines network and in accordance with pre-set skill level in the lineman apprenticeship training program, including:
  • trouble shooting, repair and replacement, installation of lines poles and equipment, climbing of poles, stringing lines and working with hot lines, service connection and disconnection, preparing daily work order sheets and other related paper work as necessary, to work overtime as required, perform stand-by duties as required after normal working hours.
• Assist in the interpretation of work orders and ensuring work is completed in accordance with the work order and Company standards.
• Performing all work in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with the Company's safety procedures and practices.
• Control of any company vehicle assigned to you, to ensure safe, lawful and efficient use at all times and the proper use and care of all tools and equipment on the said vehicle.
• Training and supervision of subordinate staff to ensure knowledge of, and compliance with Company standards and safety rules.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess:

• High school diploma and formal electrical transmission and distribution line training
• Three to four (3 to 4) years related experience in transmission line construction and maintenance.
• Supervisory experience is an asset.
