SUMMARY:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AV Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all audio‑visual construction and installation activities within a large arena project. This role ensures the seamless execution of complex AV system integration—including broadcast systems, LED displays, arena bowl sound, back-of-house AV, control rooms, IPTV, and networked AV systems. You will work closely with the Project Director and/or Project Manager(s) to develop execution strategies, schedules, and detailed plans to safely and efficiently deliver all AV scopes to meet client, business, and project milestones.
You will provide technical expertise to AV subcontractors and related trades and must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in AV construction means and methods, signal path coordination, infrastructure installation, rack fabrication oversight, device mounting, equipment testing, commissioning workflows, logistics, schedule management, site safety, and field quality assurance. This position must be able to verify that all AV installations comply with design documents, engineering specifications, arena performance requirements, and applicable codes—and implement corrective actions when they do not.
Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. You will collaborate daily with stakeholders, including general contractors, low-voltage teams, electricians, broadcast consultants, technology vendors, and ownership representatives. You are responsible for documenting all daily field activities—including progress logs, system testing status, manpower reports, delays, safety issues, conversations, material deliveries, and other items required for a complete and accurate record of the project.
The AV Superintendent reports directly to the on-site Project Manager.
This is a full-time, FLSA‑exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours during critical installation, testing, and commissioning periods.
