SUMMARY:

This client-facing position is responsible for following project management processes and procedures for Medium to Large Scale electrical utility infrastructure projects, across Michigan. 

The core competencies required for this position are leadership, commitment, a strong technical background, complex problem-solving skills, the ability to motivate, the capacity to plan, control, and monitor design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation activities, which are basic requirements.

This is a full-time FLSA-exempt position. It requires at least 40 hours per week with the ability to work more if necessary. 

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides sufficient on-site presence for direction of trades and coordination with the Client and other players to keep project schedule and scope on track. The amount of time needed on-site will vary depending on the specific project and customer.
  • Responsible for driving consistency and implementing best practices in project execution / project management pertaining to capital projects.
  • Responsible for managing a wide range of duties across all operating departments for the client pertaining to project execution.
  • Ensures delivery of key project initiatives on time.
  • Actively participates in the development and maintenance of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work planned and performed.
  • Maintains CSM Group safety culture while promoting a safe work environment and its’ compliance.
  • Proactively manages key vendor/supplier relationships.
  • Generates and implements solutions that will increase employee and contractor safety, increase operational effectiveness, and drive top line (innovation) and bottom line (cost savings) growth.
  • Performs on-site troubleshooting and or technical support of key operational opportunities.
  • Leads and participates in root cause problem solving exercises in high pressure environment to arrive at and implement the correct technical solution.
  • Provides feasibility level estimates.
  • Leads project teams from project conception, design, contract award, construction buildout, commissioning, and project turnover.
  • Provide System Matter Expertise (SME) regarding technical and non-technical deliverables pertaining to electrical utility infrastructure projects.
  • Work cross functional with client’s business partners, engineering, vendors, and construction teams
  • Manage project oversite by providing direction and coordination with project management team.
  • Coordinate operations with field teams, engineering, vendors, contractors, and subcontracts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

While performing this job, the employee may be regularly required to drive to and from the jobsites/assigned locations, sit, walk, stand, talk, hear, and smell. A major portion of the employees’ tasks require extensive walking around the jobsite, including active construction areas. The employee is required to traverse uneven terrain and work from ladders, scaffolds, and other structures, as well as work at variable heights. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools, controls, and for fine motor coordination like computer work. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  
For Field positions, while performing this job, the employee must frequently inspect the project site and may be exposed to ongoing construction activities, vibrations, noise, and various outside weather conditions (in all seasons). Work environment involves moderate risks which may require safety precautions. The noise level in the work environment may range from quiet to loud.  The proper use of Personnel Protective Equipment (including but not limited to safety boots, hardhat, and protective eyewear) is required on the jobsite.
