As the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day  quality operations.  You will lead a team of QA Technicians and ensure all quality activities are performed in accordance with the Peace Naturals  Quality Management System (QMS), Good Production Practices (GPP), Cannabis Regulations, and company policies.  This includes but is not limited to organizing and assigning work to shop floor quality personnel, monitoring quality performance, instructing, guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production and quality goals/standards developing, and mentoring team members, and driving safety performance results that meet and/or exceed company goal and targets. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, and forward- thinking.

This position is based out of Stayner, Ontario

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assess staffing requirements  and make necessary adjustments to ensure adequate QA coverage
  • Ensure QA employees  are aware of and follow safety protocols and SOPs, quality standards and regulatory requirements and document their training.
  • Oversee in-process inspections, quality monitoring, test results and batch documentation for accuracy and completeness to approve product quality prior to release for sale.
  • Monitor calibration programs to ensure testing equipment remains complaint and operational.
  • Oversees documentation and KPI tracking of quality activities.
  • Perform and document all duties according to SOPs, Health Canada regulations and all other established safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist with creating, revising and implementing SOPs and other quality documentation.
  • Ensure all functions and related documentation are completed accurately to meet regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional Departments to improve quality and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead investigations with team related to deviations, non-conformances, complaints, and quality incidents
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and implementation of CAPAS.
  • Support audits, inspections, validation activities, and regulatory readiness.
  • Other tasks as assigned by department management.

Your Environment:

  • Required to work overtime as needed.
  • Majority of duties performed in production and manufacturing environment.
  • The work environment can be warm and humid or cold and dry.
  • Lifting up to 15- 20 lbs.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling for extended periods.

You’ll need to have:

  • Post-secondary education in a scientific, quality, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance within regulated manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food, cannabis or quality environment.
  • 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Meets requirements for Quality Assurance Person (QAP) designation with valid security clearance
  • Experience in GPP production floor environment an asset.
  • Experience with Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Experience with audits, investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and quality documentation.
  • Detail oriented with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, demonstrated through previous experience.
  • Must be flexible and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and to work well as part of a team.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office/Sharepoint (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with ERP systems – SAP is preferred.
 Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 (Stayner, Ontario*) per year
 
The actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, applicable market data, internal equity, and business needs, and may vary within the stated range. This role may be eligible for bonus, incentive compensation, or other variable pay in accordance with applicable company plans."
