Pay - $60,000-65,000

Who We Need
As a Staff Accountant at Copa Health, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial transactions and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and collaborative environment where your skills will contribute to meaningful outcomes.
 
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and assisting with audits and budgeting processes.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
General Ledger Management: 
  • Prepare and post simple to complex journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Include accruals and adjustments in journal entries.
Account Reconciliation: 
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Financial Reporting: 
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Generate and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: 
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide support for variance analysis and financial planning activities.
Audit Support: 
  • Prepare documentation and schedules for external audits.
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance and address any audit findings.
Compliance and Internal Controls: 
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Other Duties: 
  • Attend meetings and actively participate in committees as assigned.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, licensure, and training requirements.
  • Perform additional job duties as required to meet program or department needs.
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit setting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
