We’re looking for a Lead Care Advocate that provides operational leadership and direct supervision to Care Advocates within a 24/7 transitional housing program. This role ensures a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for participants transitioning through the program. The Lead Care Advocate coordinates daily operations, supervises staff, oversees participant move-ins and move-outs, manages supplies and meal services, and supports participants in accessing resources. This position is central to fostering dignity, safety, and empowerment for individuals served by Copa Health.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and oversee daily tasks of Care Advocates and team members.
  • Serve as a role model, mentor, trainer, and leader to Care Advocates.
  • Act as a liaison with internal departments, external partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct staff meetings and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Coordinate participants move-ins and move-outs, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of food, hygiene, and companion animal supplies; ensure timely ordering and distribution.
  • Manage and supervise meal services to ensure timeliness, quality, and participant satisfaction.
  • Monitor site conditions through rounds and wellness checks; ensure participant safety and security.
  • De-escalate conflicts safely and appropriately; engage crisis resources as needed.
  • Support participants in understanding and following program expectations.
  • Engage participants with case management, life skills training, and employment readiness.
  • Complete timely documentation in HMIS.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager to align staff and program goals.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    • This position directly supervises Care Advocates and provides coaching, training, and performance support.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health, transitional housing, or shelter services.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Must obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card within 8 weeks of hire.
  • TB clearance at hire and annually.
  • Valid driver’s license with eligibility to drive company vehicles. 
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of applicable background checks, fingerprint clearance, and drug screening, conducted in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
