Starting Pay: $15.15 to $17.00 per hour
 
Who We're looking for
We are seeking passionate Direct Support Professionals that empower and assists seniors with  developmental disabilities in supportive living to thrive in their communities. The Direct Support Professional will also teach using service plans, teaching/performing daily living, leisure skill and planning community involvement activities. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized, high-quality care for elderly clients in supportive living and day programs
  • Follow individualized service plans, teaching and assisting with daily living activities, leisure skills, and community engagement
  • Adhere to HIPAA standards to ensure client confidentiality
  • Perform facility cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and laundry
  • Plan and prepare well-balanced meals/snacks according to dietary requirements
  • Assist with personal hygiene, including showering, changing adult briefs, brushing teeth, shaving, and dressing assistance
  • Maintain body balance for safe support of clients during various activities
  • Assess and respond to client behavior appropriately
  • Collaborate with program staff across departments as needed
Qualifications
  • A combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical at the time of hire
  • Completion of Copa’s training program per the requirements of funding sources, such as the Division of Developmental Disabilities and/or Department of Health Services
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and pass other required background checks, including a drug screen
  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License upon hire, 39-month Motor Vehicle Record, and proof of insurance and vehicle registration
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
