Who We Need: A Family Mentor provides the best practices for recovery principles in all activities including hope, empowerment, encouragement, support, self-determination, and connection to the community. The Family Mentor serves as positive role models demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors toward the individuals we serve, their families, co-workers, and guests. Staff contributes to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated effort with individuals we serve, their families, supervisors, co-workers, and outside agencies.   
JOB SUMMARY (Including, but not limited to):   
  • Creates and facilitates a variety of family group activities that support and strengthen a family’s journey of recovery
  • Educates staff to reduce stigma in a family member’s journey of recovery
  • Attends Child & Family Team (CFT) meetings; and assists the family in identifying their family culture and concerns
  • Assists with providing needed resources to the participants and their families
  • Provides consultation to members of the adult clinical teams pertaining to community-based resources
  • Maintains accurate, thorough, and current documentation
  • To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department, consistent with Copa Health productivity levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   
  • Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma / GED
  • One (1) to three (3) years of behavioral healthcare experience, previous and / or current caregiver of a service participant, preferred.
  • Successfully completes a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and any other required background checks.
  • Ability to meet Copa’s driver authorized driving requirements to include obtaining an AZ Driver’s license upon hire, 39-month MVR, proof of insurance and vehicle registration, if applicable.
