Full Time
Starting Pay: $15.15 to $17.00 per hour
Who We're looking for
Copa Health is seeking a passionate Direct Support Professional to help individuals with disabilities in supportive living and day programs. Follows and teaches using service plans, teaching/performing daily living, leisure skill and planning community involvement activities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized, high-quality care for elderly clients in supportive living and day programs
- Follow individualized service plans, teaching and assisting with daily living activities, leisure skills, and community engagement
- Adhere to HIPAA standards to ensure client confidentiality
- Perform facility cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and laundry
- Plan and prepare well-balanced meals/snacks according to dietary requirements
- Assist with personal hygiene, including showering, changing adult briefs, brushing teeth, shaving, and dressing assistance
Qualifications
- A combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical at the time of hire
- Completion of Copa’s training program per the requirements of funding sources, such as the Division of Developmental Disabilities and/or Department of Health Services
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and pass other required background checks, including a drug screen
- Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License upon hire, 39-month Motor Vehicle Record, and proof of insurance and vehicle registration
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
