We are hiring for a Part-Time RN to work Saturday & Sunday for 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm).

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

The Registered Nurse may cross-cover other clinics as needed. Services include but are not limited to: member engagement, data gathering for the purposes of contributing to an RN assessment, care planning for patients whose care is predictable, medication administration, phlebotomy, lab specimen processing and storage, obtaining and recording vital signs and body measurements, assisting providers with obtaining and completion of medication prior authorizations, obtaining data from the state controlled substance prescription medication program database, member education, and supportive counseling. Has an assigned caseload and is available as needed to any member assigned to their clinic. Participates in utilization management and quality improvement activities as required. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  •  Assesses and documents pertinent member information.
  • Collaborates with BHMP regarding member treatment.
  •  Plans nursing interventions with regard to psychopharmacologic, psychotherapeutic, and physiologic member needs.
  • Provides member education demonstrating knowledge of child/adolescent psychiatric treatment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring treatment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe nursing environment.
  • Appropriately manages pharmaceuticals and medical supplies according to policy.
  • Serves as nurse to assigned members. Performs all duties required of nurses in this treatment system.
  • Documents all activities in the clinical record according to policy using approved EHR templates and paper forms.
  • Practices according to evidence-based principles and Performance Improvement Protocols and Technical Assistance Documents as posted on DBHS web site.
  • Practices according to the recovery model principles; knows and practices engagement skills including motivational interviewing; and assists members to define and achieve their own recovery goals.
  • Identifies potential barriers to quality care and opportunities for improvement and reports them to the Director of Nursing.
  • Participates in UM and QI activities as required.
  • Reads and follows all policies and procedures.
  • Performs specialized duties as required by unique clinical situations or treatment populations consistent with nursing licensure and scope of practice.
  • Ensures compliance & adequate services for all members served.
  • Additional job duties may be required to meet organizational needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

  • Ability to work in a EMR system
  • Registered nurse principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of medical and psychiatric members.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate, problem solve, and work effectively with people and in a team environment.
  • Capacity to engage in multiple activities without losing track of needed results.
  • Ability to take initiative and see to completion.
  • Proficiency in typing, using computer software , i.e., EMR, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Internet is essential.
  • Must be proficient in word processing, Word, Excel, and Power Point as well as possess the ability to learn new software systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited Nursing program.
  • Licensure by the Utah State Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • One year prior psychiatric or behavioral health experience with adults with serious mental illnesses or children or adolescents with serious emotional disturbances or developmentally disabled. Community based experience preferred..

  ***A Retention Incentive of $5,000 after completion of one (1) year of full-time employment. The first payment will be distributed after completing your first six (6) months of employment and the remaining half balance after completing your one (1) year of employment. During this period, the employee must be in good standing and not on any form of corrective action or they forfeit the retention incentive.***
