Job Responsibilities for Forensic Psychologist
- The Forensic Psychologist will diagnose or evaluate behavioral, emotional and cognitive disorders through observation, interview, and psychological tests.
- Applies theory relating to behavior and mental processes to formulate and administer programs of treatment that may include counseling, therapy and research.
- Helps clients work toward the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning.
- Requirements for Forensic Psychologist:
- Doctorate degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology from the American Psychological Association.
- A current Georgia license to practice psychology (temp, provisional or permanent
- 1 year of experience at a lower-level psychologist position
- Supervised training and/or experience: with diverse population seen in mental health; in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Law; in mental competency and criminal responsibility evaluations for the court system; in psychotherapeutic intervention with offender populations
