Physical Therapist (School)
Description
The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation, and achievement to the people we support. For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere.
We are searching for a Full Time Physical Therapist to join our agency. This position is based at our Prospect School. The successful candidates should be passionate, student-centered professionals who want to work in a supportive learning community. Our school covers a large area and contracts with surrounding districts, to provide services to students who are medically fragile, or who have delays related to autism and other developmental diagnoses. Our on-site nursing department serves our students’ needs and is a support to our staff while they are working with students. We serve students from ages 5-21 in a year-round program (typical school calendar and 6 weeks summer program). Our school is a MOVE International model site, and our parent company, Center For Disability Services, oversees the MOVE Program internationally.
Our PT sessions are typically 1:1 with 8-9 students a day on land and in our warm water aquatic environment. The setting is a unique educational environment where we are able to also address life skills/ADLs, vocational education, community outings, and intensive sensory and behavioral needs overall maximizing our student's level of independence in life.

Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the mission of the Center, Education Department and assigned programs.
- Works collaboratively with program Directors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure equality, state-of-the-art, cost-effective services to all students served and their families.
Requirements:
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- NYS State Licensure, active and in good standing
- Experience is helpful, but we will consider new graduates for this position
- Ability to work with a team to collaborate and care for the whole person
- Organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work well with an interdisciplinary team
- Rate of pay is commensurate on experience
1 hour from Albany, 2.5 from Burlington, 10 minutes from Lake George, and 20 minutes from Saratoga Springs. We are close to 2 skiing resorts, many outdoor activities (hiking, biking, lakes) and several arts/shopping areas. Glens Falls, a mill town, is up and coming and the always popular Saratoga Springs, located only 20 minutes away is a booming town full of history, shopping, restaurants/bars, and a multitude of indoors and outdoor activities years round.
The pay range for this position is $72,403.50 - $78,877.50 and is commensurate with experience.
