The Assistant Director of Campus Activities & Leadership will assist in planning, promoting, and managing a broad spectrum of campus activities and programs which will cultivate a vibrant/active social life and help to nurture student leadership development. We believe in Christ-like servant leadership, and with this foundation, our team promotes innovation, creativity and problem-solving in our programming and planning processes.

We’re looking for candidates who have:      
  1. Bachelor’s Degree required or Master’s Degree in Student Affairs or related area preferred.
    Administrative experience at the collegiate level preferred, including: managing large-scale campus events as well as overseeing a complete array of fiscal and operational complexities associated with co-curricular events and program planning required.
  2. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; detail oriented.
  3. Demonstrated record of successful administrative leadership and experience managing and supervising professional and support staff.
  4. Ability to sustain communication with diverse groups, anticipate problems, reconcile conflicts, and maintain a strong student affairs philosophical base for student engagement, development, and support.

In this role, the Assistant Director of Campus Activities & Leadership – Student Programming contributes to the mission by enhance the student’s educational experience through holistic care and leadership development by facilitating interactions and programs outside of the classroom.       

University Wide Programming Facilitation
       
  1. Under the direction of the CA&L Director, support CCU’s Fall and Winter Orientation, Weekend of Welcome (WOW), programming to facilitate a successful, holistic transition to the university environment.
    1. Actively engage the planning process that includes strategic vision casting, communicating with partners both on and off campus, and coordinating event logistics and assessment initiatives.
    2. Systematically support the Fall Retreat programming, aligning purpose within the context of orientation and holistic care of both new students and seniors.  
  2. Under the direction of the CA&L Director, enhance learning opportunities that support the development of leadership skills among our student-staff leaders.
  3. Support the campus-wide student leadership hiring season through marketing, application, vetting, and hiring process. This includes working directly with various supervisors who hire for their departments and supporting them through the process.
Departmental Leadership & Culture Creation       
  1. Through joint effort with the CA&L departmental leadership team, brainstorm and create strategic experiential programming for staff team effectiveness and growth, reinforce and aid departmental facilitated events including retreats, leadership trainings, and weekly staff meetings.
  2. Prepare, manage, and steward the operating budget and expenditures associated with key areas of oversight.  
  3. Support key processes for budget, calendar, and communication efficiencies. This includes managing your responsibilities in these areas as well as being an example for student leaders who need to learn and implement these same processes. 
  4. Regularly attend and assist in CCU Chapels during the school year. 
Enhance the CA&L Student Leadership Experience        
  1. Cultivate our departmental student leaders through the hiring process, onboardings, programming, intentional teaching of leadership skills, and development of student directors/coordinators. 
  2. Support Student Leader Training Events throughout the year with a special focus on training Coordinators and Directors in advance of each Academic year. 
  3. Supervise student groups within CA&L during the academic year to include coaching, advising on event planning, and other resources as needed.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends. Regular public presentations to students, parents, and external constituents required. Colorado Christian University expects all faculty and staff to become a part of the University community by participating in activities and events that occur on the campus throughout the year, which may occur during evenings and weekends.

We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to all employees. Our benefit package includes: a tuition waiver program, excellent healthcare, generous paid time off, matching 403(b) retirement plan, and additional organizational paid benefits and voluntary benefit offerings. Dean pay will be assigned by rank at a range of $21.50 - $22.50 per hour. Pay is assigned by reviewing a combination of job-related factors that may include: internal/external pay equity, the salary structure/pay grade, or a candidate’s qualifications/experience for the job. A wage range posted is not a guarantee of a specific wage and CCU reserves the right to make pay decisions based on economic and equity considerations. CCU does not determine pay based on sex or any other protected status. Pay and benefits will be discussed in more detail as candidates progress through the interview process.

Spiritual Requirements

  1. Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
  2. Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
  3. Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
  4. Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
