The Library Service Coordinator is a part-time, non-exempt position that manages the circulation desk activity, supervises student staff, manages library stacks, pays invoices and gathers database statistics. The Coordinator will provide student supervision and training, manage circulation and courier activity, process invoices, gather database statistics and other clerical work. The position requires a motivated, time-sensitive, and reliable individual capable of working responsibly and productively without immediate and continuous supervision. Commitment to serving library patrons and interacting with the librarians, library student staff, CCU faculty and staff, and students effectively is essential.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

1. A bachelors degree and experience working in a library setting is preferred.
2. Supervisory experience is preferred.
3. Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
4. Proven attention to detail and ability to balance multiple tasks in a timely manner.
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required; familiarity with Sierra or similar integrated library system (ILS) is preferred.
6. English language skills; spelling, grammar, and punctuation are critical.
7. Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Job Duties:

1. Contribute to CCU’s mission: Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth.  The Library Service Coordinator contributes to the University’s mission through their work by ensuring student access to necessary resources and by collaborating with faculty and staff to enhance and advance exemplary academics, spiritual growth, and engagement with the world.
2. Hire, train, and supervise six to ten student employees to work in the library.
3. Manage Circulation Desk activity and the library stacks, ensuring that all requests and inquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
4. Provide excellent customer service for patrons regarding checkouts, late penalties, and assist with Sierra reports.
5. Gather database statistics for data tracking and trend analysis.
6. Process invoice payments, and assist with managing Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests and inquiries.
7. Assist with organizing and planning library events, programs, projects, and advertising strategies.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. This position requires sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and conducting phone conversations for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and will be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.

We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to all employees. Our benefit package for part-time employees includes a matching 403(b) retirement plan. Pay and benefits will be discussed in more detail as candidates progress through the interview process.

Colorado Christian University’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity; along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be assigned based on relevant experience at a range of $18.00 - $19.00/hour. We reserve the right to pay an equitable rate that we believe is within our salary structure or that may fit a candidate’s qualifications or experience for the job. Spiritual Requirements

1. Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
2. Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
3. Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
4. Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
