The CCS Data Analytics Practice Area
The CCS Analytics Practice Area comprises a dynamic and driven team who are passionate about delivering impactful results. We provide specialized data analytics and predictive modeling services to clients, which is supported by project teams throughout the firm.
The Data Analytics Practice Area at CCS is experiencing rapid growth, resulting in a need to expand the team. We are looking for a Business Analyst with the skills and insights to provide high-quality data analytics services to our clients and help develop new innovative services. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong spirit of collaboration and consistently bring a blend of passion and creativity to their role, elevating their work every day.
The Business Analyst will work with the rest of the Analytics team to produce a comprehensive opportunity analysis that helps our clients raise more funds in support of their valuable missions. The opportunity analysis process includes:
- Working with clients to extract large sets of data.
- Validating the data to ensure we have the right data and are making the right assumptions.
- Building a suite of historical analyses that provide context for the full analysis.
- Generating affinity scores using a variety of analytical, statistical and data science techniques.
- Appending external wealth capacity data.
- Analyzing the data to produce lists of prospects and corresponding opportunity projections.
- Preparing and delivering a report to the client describing the process and the results.
- Work with our CCS colleagues to help clients activate the results.
Understanding the Role
Our process is a collaborative, team-focused approach, which means that you will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects across the firm. The key responsibility of this role is to manage the process of receiving data extracts from our clients. This will include:
- Collaborating with CCS project team colleagues to define a custom Data Request Memo
- Meeting with the client to describe the process and review the Data Request Memo
- Communicating with the client and CCS project team to ensure delivery of data
- Compiling detailed notes about the data and the client’s process and protocols that can be shared with the rest of the team
- Tracking progress in the team’s project tracking system
- Seeking creative solutions, both internally and externally to improve the data collection process
- Pursuing additional projects to enhance our growing Data Analytics Practice
- Copyediting presentations and other documents
- Working on other analytics tasks as needed
We are looking for a dedicated professional that has:
- At least one year of experience working with data in the workplace
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, analytics, or communications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- A passion for helping nonprofit organizations
- The ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and logically both verbally and in writing
- Comfort articulating strategies with a variety of audiences
- Data visualization skills and the ability to use those skills to tell a compelling story
- Adaptability to manage changing workflows, new situations, and varied personalities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Other helpful skills include:
- Experience using R or Python to perform statistical analyses
- Experience with SQL
- An understanding of the professional services/consulting environment
- Familiarity of nonprofits and fundraising
- Experience with data visualization software (i.e. PowerBI or Tableau)
- Experience with project management software and methodology

SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $70,000
