We are seeking an experienced Director, Revenue Management to lead the Account
and Revenue Management functions, including the financial performance and revenue
optimization of our portfolio of community solar, C&I behind-the-meter solar, feed in tariff solar, and storage projects. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient revenue generation, cost management, and profitability within our solar and storage assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management, financial analysis, strategic planning, and revenue contract management within the renewable energy sector.

You Will:
Revenue Optimization:
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenue generation, timely billings and collections from solar and storage assets, considering factors such as energy market conditions, programs and tariffs, contractual agreements, and government incentives.
  • Reinforce pricing strategies and revenue models to enhance profitability.
  • Analyze revenue streams and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

 

Client Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients involved in community solar programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to enhance partnerships and secure long-term commitments.
  • Understand and optimize client- and subscriber-product revenue streams to meet current needs, while developing workflows to capture future engagement, retention, and upsell opportunities.

 

Contract Management:
  • Manage contracts related to power purchase agreements (PPAs), leases, and other revenue-generating agreements.
  • Provide input to terms and conditions to maximize financial returns and mitigate risks for Catalyze.

 

Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis of solar energy projects, including revenue forecasts, cost analysis, and profitability assessments.
  • Create tools to streamline analysis of financial performance on individual projects as well as portfolios of projects
  • Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast variances.

 

Market Intelligence and Strategy Development:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and policy and regulatory developments impacting distributed solar projects on both sides of the customer meter.
  • Develop strategic recommendations based on market intelligence to capitalize on growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Drive the development of innovative solutions to enhance revenue streams and improve competitive positioning.

 

Risk Management:
  • Assess financial risks related to revenue generation and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor market and regulatory changes that may impact revenue forecasts or operational efficiency.

 

What You Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in revenue management, financial analysis, or strategic planning within the renewable energy sector, with specific experience in solar operations highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with energy markets, regulatory requirements, and sustainability principles.

 

Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of community solar business models, including subscriber management and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in project management, with a solid understanding of project lifecycle and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) or advanced training in financial analysis is a plus.
  • This position may require occasional travel to project sites or client meetings.
  • Flexible hours may be necessary to accommodate different time zones or urgent business needs.
