We are seeking an accomplished, imaginative, and results-driven Creative Director to lead our in-house creative team and drive the visual future of our brand. This role will help drive the evolution of our brand’s creative expression, ensuring a cohesive, impactful, and engaging experience across all customer touchpoints, channels, and audiences (B2C and B2B). This leader will be instrumental in growing the Carfax brand, making life easier for consumers and dealers by championing our iconic mascot, Car Fox, and protecting the Carfax brand every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Vision & Strategy
  • Ensure Carfax is always a brand for the future by evolving a cohesive creative vision across Carfax, B2C and B2B
  • Develop creative initiatives that pull consumers in and deliver measurable results for B2C (unaided brand awareness and Gen Z engagement) and B2B (supporting lead generation, conversion and revenue).
  • Champion Car Fox. Foster a Car Fox first approach and get him everywhere and ensure his personality, presence, and visual style celebrates and protects our relentlessly-helpful brand mascot and ensure he is consistently leveraged across all platforms to engage and build brand. Collaborate with the Car Fox Production and UX design teams to bring him to life in new and exciting ways
  • Lead company-wide creative strategies that ensure a unified, premium, (but still fun) brand experience across all (B2C) and (B2B) channels, including broadcast, digital, social, video, print, and product.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and guide the concepts for marketing campaigns, product launches, and content initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Leadership teams to ensure creative output directly supports business objectives and marketing KPIs.
Team Leadership & Management
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire brand team designers, while fostering a culture of creative excellence across the brand team.
  • Establish and maintain efficient, scalable, and quality-driven creative production workflows
  • Be the brand police, ensuring high quality, brand compliance, and effectiveness across all formats (web, ads, presentations, collateral, etc.).
  • Stay current with the latest design trends, creative technologies, and competitor activities to continually elevate the brand's creative output and maintain a brand superiority.
Qualifications Required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in creative development (agency or client-side), with at least 7+ years in a Creative Director or equivalent senior leadership role, and 5+ years working consistently on the same brand(s) (if agency side)
  • A proven track record of developing and managing cohesive, successful creative campaigns across all major platforms (digital, social, broadcast, print).
  • Demonstrable expertise in overseeing visual identity, graphic design, and brand guideline adherence.
  • Portfolio showcasing high-impact creative work, including experience working with or creating a brand mascot/character.
  • Demonstrated ability to use creative output to drive specific business outcomes like customer loyalty, advocacy, and revenue growth.
  • Expert-level knowledge of design software and production processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate creative rationale to executive leadership.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience in a high-growth or fast-paced industry (e.g., Tech, CPG, Retail)
  • Experience working with global or multi-regional creative teams and campaigns.
