At CARFAX, we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. This position will require 2 days per week in our London,ON office subject to change with future business needs.
 
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be a part of the Internal Applications development team working in CARFAX's Revenue Technologies organization. You'll be working with a large team of developers from associate level to principal engineers and solutions architects. You'll also be joining the team's two dedicated QA engineers as we develop and test a wide range of business-critical applications. But you won't just be testing! We need you to collaborate with business stakeholders and other development teams, and understand requirements and impacts to existing systems before we start writing code, and sometimes before the stakeholders themselves understand what they're asking!
 
What you'll be doing:
  • Coordinating with business stakeholders, developers, analysts, other testers, and managers to identify and understand business requirements and potential impacts to existing systems
  • Reviewing and writing requirements, specifications, and other documentation
  • Monitoring all stages of software development to identify and resolve system issues before production
  • Estimating and planning test activities and resolving priorities when necessary
  • Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Deploying and maintaining automated test infrastructure
  • Designing, developing, and executing automation scripts
  • Performing manual testing and automating manual test cases
  • Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

 

What we're looking for:  

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with QA processes, test planning, and design
  • 3+ years of experience with test automation tools such as Selenium
  • 3+ years with API/web services testing
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and no-SQL databases and scripting
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with both technical and non-technical issues
  • Ability to identify edge-case scenarios in complex functionality and propose mitigation strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task and identify priorities
  • Strong work ethic and creativity
What we're looking for:  
  • Familiarity with current open-source automation and scripting test tools
  • Familiarity with generative AI models and prompt creation
  • Familiarity with AWS platform (Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, Java, or Python
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce CRM platform
  • Familiarity with Agile software development processes

Base Salary:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is CAD $72,600 to $97,500 annually. Final base salary will be determined based on geographical location, experience, and qualifications.
