CARFAX Network Engineering is a highly collaborative, diverse, and distributed team - we don't expect you to meet a rigid list of technical requirements, but we do require you to be a network nerd with some great real-world experience!

Your mission is to support and improve our network.  We don't do direct staff end-user support, however we regularly collaborate with multiple internal technical teams to support their projects.  In addition, we're always evolving network capabilities with new technologies and projects to make our network secure, fast and reliable.

The CARFAX Network Team is a fun-loving and low-stress team with minimal on-call responsibilities.  We don't burn the candle at both ends and we truly embrace a cooperative framework.  We have a well developed on-boarding process to ease you into your new job.

At CARFAX, we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. This position will require 3 in office days subject to change with future business needs.

• Maintain highly available network infrastructure across Cloud, Data Center, LAN, WLAN, and WAN network environments
• Lead or assist with projects that maintain and enhance CARFAX network environments.
• Lead or assist with network troubleshooting to resolve outages
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Have fun, learn and grow

• Must understand and be interested in both traditional and cloud environments (primarily AWS with a bit of Azure)
• Ability to operate effectively in a multi-vendor environment (Cisco L2 and L3 experience in data center environments (including Nexus and Palo Alto)
• 1+ years of experience with VXLAN
• 3+ years of experience with configuration and maintenance experience in working BGP and OSPF environments.
• 2+ years of experience with Enterprise WIFI, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 LTM and GTM, Cloud network experience
• Familiarity with Python, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform

• Desirable: AWS, F5, Silver Peak, Infoblox, Cisco, Palo-Alto
• Desirable: Python, Ansible
• Nice to Have: Logic Monitor, Kentik, and Forward Networks desirable, but not required.
