Senior Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for using their knowledge of software programs and business strategies to help companies maximize productivity and communication. Their duties include working with management to determine business and technology needs aligning with the strategic direction of the business.  Coordinating with IT professionals to create or update software based on those needs and coordination of training employees on how to use those systems effectively in their daily jobs.  This role works closely with the business and technical team to select design and test solutions, record, track technical issues, and implement any needed changes.  Gather scoping and analysis information on what the business needs should be during the requirements and design stages.  The business analysts must thoroughly understand the companies' businesses, the issues and challenges facing the industry and organization.


Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Process Analysis
  • User Needs analysis
  • System/Workflow design/implementation
  • Testing and debugging
  • Analyze data integrity
  • Meet regularly with business leaders in order to set priorities
  • Conduct training/re-training of system use and processes
  • Maintaining changes to functional and business system specifications
  • Review and check completed work modules.
  • Configure and create scripts necessary to test systems.
  • Write and publish user manuals.
  • Prepares time and cost estimates for completing projects.
  • Ensuring consistent system and operational practices across multiple locations
  • Investigate and address help desk calls
  • Applies knowledge and experience to recommend business process improvements

  • Ability to work in an environment prone to deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources. Must be able to develop presentations, documentation and training on complex subjects. 
  • Must be able to communicate with business and functional leaders in order to generate IT demand.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as computer, laptop, and cell phone.
  • Manager may work from a home office.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or equivalent; with 5 plus years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Experience with business systems and processes.
  • ERP experience a plus.
