Job Summary:
The Accountant role has high visibility into the Finance function and serves as a critical role within the team to helps manage the month-end close process and day-to-day accounting activities, as well as assisting with quarterly forecasting and various ad-hoc requests. This position maintains a wide variety of responsibilities including inventory, parts costing/pricing, part usage, fleet accounting (ASC842), balance sheet reconciliations, and other ad hoc responsibilities. This opportunity can be a hybrid role.
 
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Serve as the main point of contact for certain areas within the accounting function, such as, inventory costing, fleet, part usage, Concur/Amex.
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve process efficiency
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Liaise with the Company’s external auditors to facilitate an efficient annual audit
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Business acumen used to conduct forecasts for fleet, part usage, balance sheet, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • In-depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software, preferably including NetSuite
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with the internal accounting team, operations and upper management
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone.
  • Hybrid role - This job operates in a professional office environment
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Three to Five years of broad and proven accounting experience
  • Standard Microsoft applications, including Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
