We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our team supporting federal government clients. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with strong technical expertise in the ServiceNow platform, including custom development, integrations, and module configuration. The ideal candidate brings a solutions-oriented mindset, a deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, and a passion for delivering impactful, mission-focused applications in a fast-paced environment. 

Job Functions:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules (e.g., ITSM, HRSD, CMDB, Custom Applications) in support of federal clients.
  • Translate business requirements and technical specifications into scalable, secure, and efficient ServiceNow configurations and custom development.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts), integrations (REST/SOAP APIs), and UI components within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with agency mission goals and federal compliance standards.
  • Oversee and contribute to unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality, reliable code.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and peer reviewer for junior developers, sharing best practices and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, while contributing to technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Support ongoing optimization by recommending platform enhancements, process automation opportunities, and roadmap improvements based on ServiceNow capabilities and federal agency needs.

Skills and Abilities

    • Extensive hands-on experience with core ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and SecOps, including configuration, scripting, and custom application development within federal environments.
    • Proficient in gathering, analyzing, and translating complex functional and technical requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions that meet federal agency needs.
    • Strong expertise in designing and optimizing workflows, business rules, client/server scripts, UI policies/actions, and automated processes to support mission-critical operations.
    • Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies as applied to federal IT delivery, including experience working in hybrid Agile/Waterfall program structures.
    • Knowledgeable of federal compliance and security standards including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and their impact on platform architecture, data governance, and system authorization.
    • Skilled at collaborating with CORs, program managers, product owners, and end-users to align technical solutions with strategic objectives, while ensuring clear communication and stakeholder engagement.
    • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID servers, and other standard integration frameworks.
    • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide long-term, maintainable solutions in a fast-paced federal contracting environment.
     
    Education & Certifications :
    • U.S. Citizenship is required
    • Active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one
    • ITIL Foundations Certification
    • ServiceNow Application Developer Certification
    • ServiceNow Implementation Specialist Certification
    • ServiceNow Application Developer Certification
    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
    Experience:
    • 5+ years experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of an ITSM tool.
    • 4+ years experience in ServiceNow development – experience should include scripting, tool configuration, design work, technical configuration, and deployment; specifically, candidates shall possess the skill to develop on the ServiceNow platform including the creation and/or customization of the core applications 
    • 5+ years with working or developing in any one of the following programming languages: JavaScript, PHP, C, Java, Perl, HTML or HTML 5.
    • Generating detailed documentation.
