ServiceNow Technical Architect - CTA
Bravium Consulting is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Technical Architect to provide technical leadership and architectural expertise across complex, customer-facing ServiceNow initiatives.
This role is ideal for a ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) who combines deep hands-on platform expertise with the ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions. The Technical Architect will serve as a trusted advisor to customers and delivery teams, establish technical direction, and provide architecture oversight across multiple ServiceNow products and workstreams, including Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), ITSM, and CSM.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Development
- Serve as the technical architecture lead and subject matter expert across ServiceNow implementations, enhancements, integrations, and modernization initiatives.
- Design and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, and platform solutions based on business and technical requirements.
- Architect and oversee configuration of UI Policies, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Access Control Lists (ACLs), system properties, and other platform components.
- Design and implement APIs, middleware solutions, scripted integrations, and enterprise system integrations.
- Architect scalable custom applications, workflows, and automation while maximizing appropriate use of ServiceNow out-of-the-box capabilities.
- Provide technical oversight for Service Catalog, Flow Designer, data loads, email processing, dashboards, reporting, and access governance.
- Lead architecture, design, code, and solution reviews to ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, security, compatibility, and maintainability.
- Establish and promote development standards, architectural principles, governance models, and reusable design patterns.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, simplify solutions, reduce technical debt, and enhance overall platform functionality.
- Maintain and oversee technical documentation, including solution designs, architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and configuration documentation.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and support ServiceNow cases through resolution when necessary.
Requirements & Solution Design
- Partner with customers and business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and translate business needs into technical and functional ServiceNow solutions.
- Translate requirements into business requirements, user stories, process flows, functional specifications, technical designs, and test scenarios.
- Evaluate technical requirements and recommend solution approaches based on ServiceNow capabilities, architecture standards, security requirements, and platform best practices.
- Apply Agile/Scrum and SDLC methodologies throughout solution design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement.
- Develop high-level technical estimates, solution approaches, and work breakdown structures to support project planning.
- Lead or support testing and validation to ensure solutions meet functional, performance, scalability, integration, and compatibility requirements.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, product owners, business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM)
- Architect and implement ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions across:
- Demand Management
- Project Portfolio Management
- Portfolio Management
- Application Portfolio Management
- Design SPM workflows, reporting, analytics, dashboards, and supporting data structures.
- Apply knowledge of CMDB and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) principles when designing SPM solutions and integrations.
- Architect integrations and process alignment between SPM, ITSM, CSM, and other ServiceNow capabilities.
- Support end-to-end product and service delivery management, including solutions that provide visibility into portfolio performance, financial outcomes, product performance, and strategic priorities.
- Work with business and technology stakeholders to ensure SPM solutions support organizational planning, prioritization, governance, and decision-making.
HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
- Architect, implement, configure, and enhance ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD) solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across Employee Center, HR Case Management, HR workflows, integrations, and supporting platform capabilities.
- Design HRSD solutions using ServiceNow scripting, APIs, Flow Designer, integrations, and platform configuration capabilities.
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate HR processes into effective ServiceNow solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex HRSD platform, workflow, integration, and configuration issues.
- Ensure HRSD architecture appropriately addresses security, data access, privacy, user experience, scalability, and maintainability.
Technical Leadership & Customer Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor on ServiceNow architecture, platform capabilities, technical strategy, security, and governance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers and other members of the ServiceNow delivery team.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple teams, customers, and concurrent project workstreams.
- Lead or participate in customer workshops, architecture discussions, technical presentations, and solution demonstrations.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and architectural recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current on ServiceNow releases, platform capabilities, architecture best practices, and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Current ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification required
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow platform experience in complex enterprise environments
- 7+ years of overall application development and SDLC experience, including Agile/Scrum environments
- Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering complex, enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, ACLs, Flow Designer, Service Catalog, APIs, integrations, and platform configuration
- Demonstrated experience designing custom ServiceNow applications, integrations, workflows, and automation
- Strong experience with ServiceNow SPM, including Demand Management, Project Portfolio Management, Portfolio Management, and Application Portfolio Management
- Experience architecting or implementing ServiceNow HRSD, including Employee Center and HR Case Management
- Understanding of CMDB and CSDM principles and their relationship to ServiceNow applications and services
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, web services, MID Servers, middleware, and scripted integrations
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, data models, security, access governance, integrations, and application design
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, security, and enterprise architecture principles
- Experience creating and maintaining technical architecture and solution documentation
- Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and communicate recommendations to technical and business stakeholders
- Strong customer-facing communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide technical leadership across multiple teams and manage concurrent priorities in a consulting environment
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- One or more ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications, particularly in relevant SPM or HRSD products
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Experience implementing ServiceNow AI capabilities, including Now Assist, Predictive Intelligence, AI Agents/agentic solutions, and AI- or ML-enabled workflows
- Experience leading large-scale ServiceNow implementations, transformations, or modernization initiatives
- Experience supporting complex enterprise or public-sector ServiceNow environments
- Experience working in a consulting or other customer-facing delivery environment
