JOB TITLE: Tournament Traveler Lane Technician Associate

 

LOCATION: Tournament Site (Las Vegas, NV or Reno, NV)

 

POSITION TYPE: Temporary Full-Time

 

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

 

REPORTS TO: Lane Technician Supervisor

 

WORK HOURS: MondaySunday (hours vary depending on tournament schedule), ability to work extended hours, as needed.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

USBC is looking for dedicated, service-minded individuals to join our tournament traveler team as a Lane Technician Associate. Lane Technician team members are responsible for maintaining the integrity and consistency of the competition environment by preparing and conditioning lanes using advanced lane maintenance equipment. Lane Technician Associates ensure that lane conditions meet tournament standards, contributing directly to a fair and challenging experience for all competitors. Their expertise and attention to detail are central to the success of USBC Championship events.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Maintain the competition area – sweeping, dusting, or mopping of approaches, settees, hoods, or gutters.
  • Equipment upkeep – lane machine (cleaning, filling, and charging) and water cooler (filling & cup supply).
  • Customer Service calls – approach issues, cleanups, and retrieve items from the lanes.
  • Regularly participate in scheduled meetings and huddles, keeping tournament leadership informed of department activities or service challenges.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

         Ability to work nights and weekends, and special events.

         Focused–the ability to complete tasks accurately in a distraction-filled environment.

 

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 

         High School Diploma or continual learning education.

         Must pass USBC’s Registered Volunteer Program (RVP) background screening and adhere to the Code of Conduct of the USBC Registered Volunteer Program (RVP).

         Knowledge of Kegel Lane machines and products. 

         Computer and communication systems literate – PC, phone, and two-way radios.

         Must always be neat and well-groomed, as this role will have frequent contact with guests, clients, and supporting staff.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

  • Must be able to work in an occasionally noisy and intemperate environment with potential short-term exposure to non-toxic fumes.
  • Must be mobile as well as stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift 60lbs repetitively and occasionally up to 100lbs.

 

TRAVEL: This position will require the employee to be on-site for the Championships, so relocation is required for up to 6 months at a time.
