Description

The Assistant Coach of Team USA has the proven ability to coach and train individual athletes and athletic teams (including the enhancements of team coach’s ability to extend training) at the highest level. This coach cultivates a team environment while directing the team and ensures all staff, who are assisting in the training, perform at a consistently high level.

This individual would be employed as a contracted worker.  Work hours vary depending on camp schedules and team events and must be able to work Saturday, Sunday and/or extended hours as needed. A maximum 8 work weeks per year would be available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help grow and develop Athletes based on the direction of the Team USA Head Coach and Junior Team USA Head Coach. 
  • Create and maintain positive communication with Team USA Head Coach, Junior Team USA Head Coach, other assistant coaches, Staff and Athletes
  • Serve as the assistant coach for selected competitions for Junior Team USA and Team USA National Teams.
  • Assist where needed for Team USA, Junior Team USA and Development Team USA camps.
  • Serve as a resource for camps 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience required. Experience could take form of extensive involvement and knowledge of the bowling world.
  • Experience with camps, clinics, and team coaching.
  • Ability to pass USBC Registered Volunteer Program background screen as a condition of employment and on an annual basis as a condition of continued employment to ensure appropriate protection is given to the youth involved in our programs required.
  • Ability to adhere to the Code of Conduct of the USBC Registered Volunteer Program and Team USA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, to include excellent presentation/public speaking skills required.
  • Stay current with SafeSport Training
  • Proficiency with general office computer applications (MS Office, PowerPoint etc.) required.
  • Obey the mission statement, bylaws, policies, and philosophies of USBC Team USA and USOPC.
  • USBC Silver Certified Coach required or within 90 days.
  • Familiarity with USOPC programs and activities desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally required to move about inside the International Bowling Campus (IBC) and off-site locations
  • Continually required to sit and/or stand (remain stationary)
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Continually required to talk and/or hear
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, digital cameras, and email
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
