Department: R&D Microbiology Reports To: Associate Director R&D Microbiology
Position Summary
Local Position Summary
Responsible for executing lab tasks to contribute to the design and development of high quality products on time, within budget, and with a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Primary Duties
Local Position Duties
Execute biological testing needed for assay development and system verification activities according to good lab practice.
Collaborate with other lab scientists to execute testing protocols and workflows within the lab.
Ensures that the project results and files are accurately documented and compliant with the company quality assurance and design control procedures.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO) and comply with biohazard safety standards.
Handles biological samples, including human blood and sterile body fluids.
Prepare, maintain and manipulate microorganisms.
Prepares reagents (buffers, solvents, antibiotics, diluents) used for testing.
Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education, Training and Experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
- 5 years of lab experience in a regulated environment with a High School Diploma — Life Sciences, Biomedical, Microbiology, related science field
Preferred Education, Training and Experience
Associate's or Bachelors degree in scientific field; Fields of Knowledge: Microbiology preferred, Biology, Clinical Microbiology, or Medical Technology
Basic understanding of skills necessary for good laboratory safety, aseptic technique, and basic Microbiology/Molecular technique
