Position Summary & Responsibilities:

This co-op is anticipated to run from May - December 2025 working an average of 40 hours/week onsite at our St Louis facility. Relocation assistance is not available.

This role focuses on applying Design for Manufacturability and Assembly concepts along with developing real-world skills among our engineers, software developers, microbiologists, and numerous other professionals.

  • Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test medical equipment, devices, and systems. Your goal will be to improve patient outcomes and enhance healthcare delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers to create innovative solutions according to specifications.
  • Testing and Validation: Participate in rigorous testing of products to ensure safety and efficacy before deployment.
  • Manufacturing Support: Monitor the entire manufacturing process, from concept design to product implementation. Activities include designing product improvements, developing evaluation methods, coordinating initial production, and creating manufacturing diagrams.

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED. No previous engineering work experience is required
  • Must be actively pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Software, Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics/Robotics Engineering.
  • Adept in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Experience using CAD tools (e.g. Altium, NX, PTC Creo, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks), simulation tools (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, Spice circuit analysis, CFD, FEA), and/or IDE tools and code repositories (e.g. Visual Studio, Git, Bitbucket, TeamCity).
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
