bioMérieux is a fast growing and profitable biotech company with a great opportunity for a Data Scientist. The candidate will be responsible for performing bioinformatics analyses and automating 
The candidate will be knowledgeable in various aspects of bioinformatics, software development, and data science - responsible for performing bioinformatic analyses and automated reports for projects that support development and sustainment of BioFire products. The candidate must have strong analytic and programming skills. The candidate will be embedded in the Data Science department but will have close collaboration with the Molecular Biology unit’s System Sustainment, R&D, and Innovation teams. Therefore, the candidate must have strong communication skills and a desire to work in a highly collaborative environment. 
  
Studies and Experience:
  • M.S. in a quantitative discipline: Bioinformatics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computational Biology, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering.
  • 3+ years industry experience as a bioinformatician, data scientist, mathematician, or statistician.
  • Programming proficiency in one or more of the following: R, Python, BASH, C++, JAVA, C#, or SQL.
     
      Skills and Qualifications: 
      • Good communication, writing, and presentation skills
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
      • Practical experience in any of the followingbioinformatics analysis, bioinformatics pipelines, data science analysissoftware development, data cleaning and processing, data visualization, probability, statistics, machine learning, image analysis, linear algebra, and optimization methods.
