What You'll Be Doing:
Your Mission: As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you'll be instrumental in assisting patients on their journey to recovery.
Key Activities: Conduct group and individual sessions, evaluate patient progress, and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Providing Support: Deliver individual and group counseling services.
- Service Coordination: Manage direct service hours and coordinate services effectively.
- Patient Advocacy: Be responsive to patient grievances and complaints.
- Tailored Recovery: Develop aftercare and discharge plans customized for each patient.
- Building a Support System: Encourage the involvement of families and significant others in the recovery process.
- Treatment Planning: Facilitate, establish, and regularly review the initial treatment plan for each patient.
- Adaptability: Embrace other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Possess an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences.
- License Requirement: Obtain a Utah license, such as ASUDC, CASUDC, CASUDC-I, SUDC, CSUDC, CSUDC-I, LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, SSW, or be an eligible Psychology graduate working towards an SSW license.
- Screening: Successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
